Shalva Kikodze was a Georgian expressionist painter, graphic artist and theatre decorator. He is considered a key figure in Georgian art of the early 20th century. During his lifetime he was regarded as a promising artist but died at an early age due to poor health. He was born in a Georgian village Bakhvi, Guria in 1894.

Between 1914 and 1918, he studied at The Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In 1916, he participated in an expedition to the Georgian village Nabakhtevi and produced copies of the 15th-century murals from the local church.

Between 1918 and 1920 he lived in Georgia where he worked as a theater decorator for Jabadari Theater in Tbilisi. He then moved to Paris, where with Gudiashvili and Kakabadze, he organised an exhibition in 1921.

He was respected for a diverse range of themes in his work, including city life in Tbilisi and Paris. Kikodze was considered a budding artist in the years of the Georgian Democratic Republic. He died in Freiburg, Germany, on November 7, 1921. Most of his works are on display at the Art Museum of Georgia, Tbilisi, Georgia.
